No Time Like the Present!

Doubtless you have heard this expression which means: Take Action Now!

I don’t know if I have ever written as direct a post as this one, but I’m in a grab-life-by-the-balls mood, so here ya go!

Here’s the deal…We creative, “big-picture” types can do the day-to-day tasks and get into the details, but that’s not where we thrive.

If you are like me, then you know that we can get so wrapped up in the grandeur of our dreams and the magnificence of our plans that days (or weeks or months or even years) pass and we find that we have accomplished nothing.

Maybe you’re not like me. That’s okay.  The world wouldn’t function filled with “me’s.”

Maybe you have all the spreadsheets to manage your life and relationships most efficiently.  Maybe they’re all organized alphabetically or numerically.  You know exactly what you’re supposed to be doing and when it needs to be done to maximize efficacy.

Either way, we all fail to take action because we lose steam.  We get distracted. We are afraid.

Let It Go!

Whatever it is, NOW is the time to let it go.  You can do it. It’s that easy.  Just let it go.

Most all of the things that hold us back are stories that we believe about ourselves or our circumstances.  If a story is no longer serving you, let it go!

What do you need to let go? There is no time like the present!

“LET IT GO!!” You can’t get any clearer than that!!  :-)

Simple, yet so NOT easy! :)

Trouble is that “let it go” is also a big-picture statement.  There are loads of smaller steps to get to the point where you can let things go, whether they’re taken consciously or not.  But I get what you’re saying, and I’m with you.  Over-managing your life makes it impossible to live!

Yes, you’re right, Ellie.  I guess that my point is sometimes we get so tied up with the little things it takes to “let go” that we just don’t do it!  :)

Hah, great post Steve. I’m a big picture type person too, and although I’ve gotten better lately at being more detail oriented – my job requires it in large amounts – I still find myself sometimes just sitting back and dreaming.

Thanks for giving me inspiration to get up and get moving. :-) :-) Thanks for the inspiration to get going.

I love this Steve. I think we put a lot of things on our To Do list just because we think we have to. I have to decorate the house perfectly for Christmas. I have to make the traditional family dish that takes me 3 days to prepare. I have to send out physical Christmas cards… Nope, I don’t. I have to sleep in and drink Chai tea, and meditate and read wonderful blogs and have a girly sleepover and dinners with friends. Because that’s what makes me happy. I’ve let a lot of that stuff go. Now, what else can I kick to the curb? :)

    Hugs!

Great post! Letting go is difficult. It seems like we always want to hold on to the non-productive things.  Thanks for the eye-opener.

Thanks so much, April!  So glad you stopped by the blog and I appreciate hte comment.  You’re right.  We hold on to what we’ve always done because it is our habit.  Hope to connect with you more here.
